Are organic baby foods healthier than regular baby foods?
There is no definite answer to this question. Both organic and non-organic foods will help your baby grow. Organic foods are difficult to compare with regularly grown foods because of differences in growing conditions (soil, moisture, sunlight). These differences all affect the nutrition of the plant. So far, the research doesn’t suggest that organic foods are healthier than regular foods. Organic baby foods usually cost more than regular baby foods, and can still have just as much added sugar and salt. As for the safety of organic vegetables and fruit, they are less likely to have pesticides than regularly grown produce. If you’re concerned about pesticides, thoroughly rinse all vegetables and fruit with tap water for 30 seconds. This will remove most pesticide residues. The choice to purchase organic foods is a personal one. Only you can decide what is best for your baby.
