Are Online Master’s Degree Programs Replacing the Traditional Master’s Degree Programs?.
This paper is the result of a study conducted on possible future online students’ attitudes toward online Master’s degree in education. The study reviews the current research and literature regarding online versus traditional Masters programs. The study uses subjects randomly selected from seniors at the University of Nevada, Reno. Using an experimenter-designed questionnaire, the subjects were asked to rate their attitudes and opinions toward both traditional and on-line Master’s degree programs using a 5-point Likert scale. The student’s responses about traditional and online programs will be compared using the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks test. The discussion focuses on whether online education is considered a viable alternative that could replace traditional education in the future.
