Are online high school diplomas worth the paper they are printed on?
A diploma is a piece of paper. Very few places will ever ask to see your piece of paper. The real question is what did you learn, and what do you want to do with that education? A college will want to see transcripts and test scores, etc. A job employer will care about your skills, attitude, work habits, etc. I would never recommend buying a piece of paper – it doesn’t matter. Accreditation is a buzzword that gets used a lot to try and create an “elite” group of schools or separate out people who are getting an education in non-traditional ways, but in the end, you can get a worthless diploma from an accredited school as well. Many people graduate without having any real skills or knowledge. Get your education any way you can. Ignore the diploma. What matters more is having a set of skills, good habits, a healthy outlook, and sometimes it matters that you have completed a certain set of courses that are verifiable.
