Are one-off festival dates like Edgefest special, compared to regular stops on tour?

Dan Andriano: I guess, yeah, in a sense. We’re all excited to see friends in bands like NOFX, Pennywise, Rise Against, people we don’t get to see too often. Yeah, I think we view our own shows on regular tours as being pretty special because we try to make them as intimate as possible, but it’s definitely a really cool vibe created by so many different kinds of bands playing on the same stage, especially when they’re all kind of friendly with each other like we are. When you’re not playing at a big show like that, do you transform into a fan? Yeah, absolutely. It’s all about trying to go out and play the best show as possible and then enjoying what the rest of the bands have to offer, absolutely. It’s at a farm on the edge of town, but they’re going to have a full-on water park. Any chance we see you guys splashing around at some point? There’s every chance you could see that. You guys are known to write songs about death, depression and darkness. Is it ever a downer to play songs like
