Are oncoming headlights at night now too bright?

Quick optics lesson: Because of the way the rods and cones work, red based light (like what is going in many auto gauge faces now) does not cause your eyes to refocus for daylight. Blue light (like the new style of headlights) does require your eyes to be focused for daylight. (This is the reason flashlights to be used in certain situations-like astronomy-are always filtered to red, its the only way you can still see when you turn them off or look out of the illuminated area.) This means that anytime you get those blue headlights shined at you, your eyes adjust for daylight leaving you blind for a second, then when theyre gone youre again blind while you readjust to the darkness. Its compounded by the new car gauges not forcing our eyes to be partially adjusted for the light (which improves visibility for you into the dark areas outside of the car). Those headlights are an incredible safety hazard. Even if theyre aligned properly the coloring of the light cuts visibility for everyone e
