Are Olive Leafs Flavonoids beneficial?
Flavonoids are most commonly known for their antioxidant activity. However, it is now known that the health benefits they provide against cancer and heart disease are the result of other mechanisms. Flavonoids are also commonly referred to as bioflavonoids in the media – the terms are equivalent and interchangeable, for flavonoids are biological in origin. Since the late 1800’s scientists and pharmaceutical companies have documented the botanicals pathogen killing, cardiovascular and energy-giving properties. Emerging scientific evidence has shown that the flavonoids from the polyphenol category (olive leaf), have antioxidant powers greater than those of vitamins C, E, Green Tea and beta-carotene.
