Are Older Non-Trads Stuck on the Vietnam War and Old Music? Saturday February 21, 2009 I found Danielle Frink’s non-trad student blog this morning. She’s been looking for other non-traditional students to talk to. I’ve invited her to join us here and in the Continuing Ed. forum. Say hello when you see her there. In Danielle’s search for other non-trads, she encountered an observation by a college student that all non-trads want to do is talk about the Vietnam War and who Danielle calls “the two Jims” — Jimi Hendrix and Jim Morrison. I can kind of understand his point, much as I hate to admit it. A lot of Boomers are returning to school, and a whole lot of them served in Vietnam. I have friends myself who bring it up in almost every conversation. I have also been guilty myself of mentioning Jim Morrison in a forum or two recently.
