Are offset payments channelled directly into carbon offset projects?
Somewhat deferred in comparison with income from donations, the primarily effectiveness-oriented and more careful implementation of donation proceeds is a particular myclimate sign of quality, as much as it is one of Swiss development organisations in general. Instead of the “instant watering-can principle”, myclimate focuses on optimal climate protection results and sustainability, in keeping with the intentions of its donors. In its support of these carbon offset projects, myclimate has a performance-based approach, i.e. through designated, actually achieved emissions reductions over a longer contract duration of 7-14 years. myclimate guarantees its clients that emission reductions that have been bought (= offset payment donations) are realised in carbon offset projects within two years and retired at the latest after three years.
