A16. 42 CFR ยง 424.24(c)(3) states that if a physician or NPP establishes the plan of care, he/she must also certify the plan of care. If the plan of care is established by a physical or occupational therapist or speech language pathologist, a physician or NPP who has knowledge of the case must sign the plan of care.
