Are not ALL polygamist guilty of child abuse?
No, not all polygamists are guilty of child abuse. I know a family which consists of two adult males, two adult females, and five children who are genetic offspring of the four parents (the mothers are obviously known but the family declines genetic testing for the fathership because they view it as irrelevant — there are four parents, not two, the genetics don’t figure in to it). Their five children are all well adjusted, top of their classes, well expressed emotionally and intellectually, have diverse interests, and are expected to come to their own conclusions about right-and-wrong and truth-and-false based on their own critical thought. They are shown love and attention by their four parents. They are not hidden away or kept out of sight, they attend public schools and go with their family to regular outings with others. I hardly consider such an open and tolerant lifestyle ‘abuse’.
