Unaware of the Need to Tip While many people take it for granted that they will need to set aside some extra money for a tip when they visit a restaurant, hotel or a supermarket that employs baggers, not all customers are aware of the tipping culture and will fail to leave a tip for staff who are expecting to receive a tip from each customer who comes through their doors. No Money! Ideally, customers who make use of services provided for them should offer a tip as a way of thanking wait staff, baggers and others who supplement their income through tips. But not all customers have any spare money to offer or they forget to bring along extra change to offer as a tip. If that is the case, rather than accepting services provided and then silently moving on without so much as a “thank you”, customers should try to do as much for themselves as possible and let the staff know that they will make sure to compensate them next time they stop by.
