Are nightclubs racist hiring white bouncers?
Gee, what’s that you said? YOU HAVE NO EXPERIENCE AS A BOUNCER. Race has nothing to do with it–EXPERIENCE does. If I were a club owner, I’d want the bouncer who knows when to talk to someone calmly, and who knows when to just pick them up and toss them into the street. People with EXPERIENCE have that level of judgment. There’s a huge difference between “REGULAR SECURITY” and bouncing in clubs–you’re dealing with drunks, people who are high, people whose attitudes have been very tweaked and adjusted….you’re not just rattling doorknobs and making rounds. You might not have noticed, but the economy isn’t so swift. I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of bouncers are returning to the trade after being fired from other jobs. What do they have that you don’t have? EXPERIENCE. I’d hire back someone who worked for me before, before I’d take a chance on a newbie. You also say that you “worked two different club for one night and they don’t call me for work no more…” Gee–two different clubs?
