Are NGVs cleaner than gasoline or diesel vehicles?
A. NGVs are the cleanest of any vehicles in commercial production today. In fact, NGVs produce 5% to 10% of the emissions allowable by todays most stringent standards. Dedicated NGVs can reduce exhaust emissions of carbon monoxide (CO) by 70%; nitrogen oxides (NOx) by 87% and carbon dioxide (CO2) by 20% below those of gasoline vehicles.
