Are netherland dwarf rabbits good pets?
A rabbit needs to be socialed DAILY, not just occasionally. They need at least four hours out of the cage per day. They are very intellegent animals and require mental and physical stimulation to thrive. They need care pinpointed to their unique needs exactly. Another thing is that rabbits, being prey animals, tend to not like being held/cuddled. Think about it: in the wild, the only time a rabbit would be off the ground would be if it was snatched by a hawk. They tend to struggle to have all four feet back on the ground. People seem to be under the impression that rabbits scratch a lot, but really itt’s not intentional. They are just looking for traction to hop down. (Rabbits have extremely delicate spines, and if you let them drop they can break. Improper handling can result in a broken back too, if a rabbit kicks.
