I am not aware of any homeowners associations in the UK. Unless, of course, you mean Housing Associations. Most individuals in the UK do not build their own home. Housing Associations, however, do have many new build projects. They also have much older housing stock. There are Housing Associations all across the UK regions and part of their role is that of Residential Social Landlords. Some properties they ‘market rent’ via estate agents at the current market rental rates. Many properties are rented out at reduced rates to people on local authority housing lists (used to be called Council Housing). There are also sheltered housing for people with special needs (disabilities) 0r the elderly. Other properties are ‘sold’ on various schemes.
