I’m amazed at what some people say. Please completely ignore “dad” who has no clue of electricity. Grounding can mean a lot of things. The connection to a ground rod and water pipes and the like is one thing, and was code before 1920. That has absolutely nothing to do with the “ground” (called equipment grounding conductor) that is the 3rd prong on your outlets. 1) can’t make a blanket statement. 2) Connect each ground screw on the outlet to the box (use a ground screw, which is 10-32 machine screw, or if the box doesn’t have one or a place for one there are clips for the purpose). Don’t just rely on the outlet mounting screws. If you have continuity between the box and neutral, you may have a ground path (such as a metal sheathed cable), or possibly some connection to the neutral.
