Are muzzles or tranquilizers used while a pet is being groomed?
Sometimes, yes we use muzzles but we try not to. Both vans are equipped with the groomers helper which help us more than muzzles do. The groomers helper safely keeps a dog from being able to turn or lower its head, keeping the groomers hands and fingers safe. As far as tranquilizers go, it is against NJ state law for a groomer to give any such thing to a client even upon request. For the extreme cases where sedation is required, it is the owners responsibility to get a prescription from the veterinarian and follow all directions regarding administration of the prescription. ……………………………………………………………………..
