THE WSN waste centre at Belrose would be a perfect place for a mountain bike facility and would be in keeping with promises made to the community when the centre was established, according to Davidson Federal Liberal MPJonathan O’Dea. He said it would also stop national parks in the area being damaged by mountain bikes. The State Government has already indicated it might sell the WSN site in Crozier Rd. Mr O’Dea says the original concept plan for the WSN site was that the land would be made available for recreational purposes but WSN had since announced it would dump another 180,000 tonnes of landfill there over the next three years, meaning the community won’t get land fit for team sports for years to come. In the meantime, however, he says the site would be perfect for mountain bike riders, who he says are interested in building a facility there, and for horse riders.
