Are most white males in the U.K. Circumcised or not?
The answer is that only 20 per cent of white males are circumcised in Britain, mostly in the south.There is also a class distinction, the Royal Family and the upper classes have been practising circumcision since Queen Victoria’s time. She was convinced that her descent came from King David and her sons starting with the future King Edward VII were cut by a mohel, a licenced circumciser of the Jewish faith. Prince Charles was also circumcised by a mohel but in the case of his sons Princess Diana objected and they were not. This may hve been done later in their young lives. Doctors in Britain seem to think it is not all that necessary but as it gives protection against AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases, due to receptor sites in the foreskin, it would appear to be healthy for many more boys to have the operation.
