According to the EPA, they assess “a wide variety of potential human health and environmental effects associated with use of the product.” The EPA reviews research that identifies potential risks to humans, wildlife, fish and plants, as well as the potential for contaminating groundwater. To be approved for use as an adult control product, it must meet EPA requirements.
