Are miniature poodles and teacup poodles the same size?
There are 3 “real” sizes of Poodles. Starting at the largest: the Standard, then Miniature, then Toy. There is no “real” category of teacup. It is simply a term made up to describe an undersized Toy Poodle. Knowledgeable, responsible breeders will not refer to an undersized Toy as a “teacup”, nor will they breed to intentionally produce them. Miniature poodles, when adult, can become the size of standard poodles sometimes. Teacup poodles, when adult, can become the size of a miniature one. Of course, as others said, ‘teacup’ poodles do not exist. It’s just an informal classification of “small miniature” poodles. Please, do yourself a favor and DO NOT buy those, as they’re bred by puppy mills.
There is no such thing as a teacup anything. So the answer is no. The teacup scam was made up by BYB and puppy millers to be able to sell there runts bred from other runts at high prices. Its a scam that hundreds of people have been caught up in. Most of these runts don’t live to adulthood so how could anyone give a consensus on them There are actually 4 correct sizes, but none of them are teacup.
There are only 3 recognized sizes of poodle in UK they are the standard over 15 inches ,minature high at shoulder under 15 inches but not under 11 inches and toys under 11 inches. In USA the minature can’t be under 10 inches and the toy must be under 10 inches. Teacups are not reconized as a size they are usually just runts of the litter.
