ARE MEN IMPERVIOUS TO COLD?”
That men generally have a higher ratio of muscle/fat in their bodies than women do. There are wide individual variations, of course, but this is usually the case. Muscle uses more energy than fat does. This, in turn, generates more heat. The result is that men don’t feel the cold as quickly as women do, because their bodies are generating more warmth. On the other hand, same effect will make them feel the summer heat more quickly, and have them heading for the air conditioner! By the way, the higher muscle/fat ratio is also why men sometimes have an easier time losing weight then women do. They just burn more calories, even without specifically exercising, because of the extra calories required by the muscle.
