Are meal worms really in all food?

If you found tiny white worms after sweeping, you should thoroughly check your under counter cabinets. Meal worms are generally a brownish tan color and consume grains. White worms like that require a moist environment. Most of them require decaying protein or other organic matter. It is not unlikely that a few may crawl away from the food source and be swept up. I’m not saying you have poor cleaning habits, but if a piece of chicken fell by the stove and a fly landed on it this can happen. We’ve all found things we didn’t realize we’d dropped. If you have pets get them checked out too, as that can be another source.
