Are many APC products affected by the RoHS and WEEE Directives?
The WEEE and RoHS directive did not establish a definitive list of products subject to the directives. Rather, they provided general guidance for determining applicability and instructed manufacturers to individually determine if their specific product types were within the scope of the directives. Products broadly can be classified as (1) covered, (2) inherently out of scope, (3) out of scope by explicit exclusion, and (4) out of scope by implicitly exclusion. APC has approximately 1,000 products that have been affected by the directives.
