Are macros in MS-Excel hard to learn?
Basic macros in Excel VBA are pretty easy. The best way to see how to begin is to use the macro recorder. When activated, Excel embeds every action you take into the macro you are creating. When you are finished, you must remember to stop the recording process or you will get a lot more ‘stuff’ than you want. After a macro is created, it can be attached to a command button on the worksheet, called using a keyboard shortcut, or called from another macro. To start, go to Tools > Macro and select Record New Macro. The New Macro window will allow you to name the macro and create a keyboard shortcut by selecting a letter, lower or upper case. Then perform a few simple tasks, such as coloring a cell blue, or typing in a phrase, etc. Stop recording and manually reverse the actions you took.
