Are long-term suspensions and expulsions reported for general education students or only for special education students?
“Long term suspensions” (as defined by IDEA) are reported only for those specialeducation students out of school for more than ten days (11 or more days). This is different from how it is defined for traditional students, where an official expulsion requires an administrative action of the school board. Unless a special education student is expelled from the school district, the student would be considered as continuing (Code 19).
