Local jurisdictions are required by Federal law to have a FEMA-approved hazard mitigation plan in order to qualify for the following hazard mitigation funding: Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP), Flood Mitigation Assistance (FMA) and Pre-Disaster Mitigation.
