Are lizard poisonous?
Is it a lizard or a salamander? I know for salamanders red and orange color is most likely warning coloration because they are poisonous. It is a cool adaptation. Predators actually adapt to not eat any bright colored critters because the ones that have die and do not reproduce. Therefore the population develops into an animal that does not like the color red/orange. ANYWAY, the answer is I don’t know but red is a color associated with toxic! Wash your hands well if you have held it and put it back where you found it. Animals should not be taken out of the wild. They have homes and mates and lives that you have taken away!
