Are Lionel Richies Commodores Reuniting?
I don’t have the details, but I seem to remember an award show in the recent past where Lionel Richie and the rest of the Commodores were onstage, and did not acknowledge each other’s presence whatsoever. With that kind of love, it’s a little hard to believe Lionel Richie when he tells Billboard that the group will likely reunite before the end of the year. “It’s the No. 1 question we get,” Richie said. “I can honestly tell you before the end of the year, for sure, you’ll hear a rumble. I think now might be the proper time.” The article has a lot of other information about Richie taking creative control on his next record– on his last two records he’s worked with current hitmakers like StarGate, The-Dream, Christopher “Tricky” Stewart, and Ne-Yo– but really, the Commodores reuniting? If that actually goes down physically liberated moms all over the world are going to put on their favorite pair of jeans and unleash the desire to get down. Watch out for flying panties, Lionel.
