Are Lefties Delinquent?
A popular saying among lefthanders goes like this: If the right side of the body is controlled by the left side of the brain, and the left side of the body is controlled by the right side of the brain, then lefthanded people are the only ones in their right minds. As attractive as those words may be to the sinistrals of the world, the fact is that the conclusion offered not only fails to follow logically from the given premise but also appears quite dubious from just about every point of view. First of all, despite the fact that the left side of the body is controlled by the right side of the brain, surely both lefthanders and righthanders do utilize the left portion of the body to some extent (unless that side of the body be paralyzed, a disease that might also affect the lefthanded as well as the righthanded). Hence, both lefties and righties are in their right minds. Second, the fact that the left portion of the body (e.g. left hand and left foot) may be dominant physically does not
