In this survey we didn’t collect any data on urban schools. However while we do know that private schools in urban areas are much better than private schools in rural areas, government schools in urban areas are unlikely to be significantly better than rural government schools.ASER 2005 indicates that learning outcomes in private schools are 10 percentage points better than in government schools. Please comment. Private schools in rural areas of south India are better than in the north. But in the north, most private schools are not even worth the name.
