Are laurel berries poisonous to dogs?

of the cherry laurel berries are toxic to dog as they are a cyanide producers. My golden retriever and bichon have both gone after the neighbours huge hedge because it has a lot of berries dropped down on the ground around them. They have gotten into them and eaten several of the berries but the pits pass through their system rapidly so that it doesn’t break the pits down. I’m sure they aren’t good for them, but I don’t believe that any of the cyanide from the pits really gets into their system unless the dog actually chews the pits and get into the center. My dogs just swallowed the berries whole to get them down before I quickly stopped them. This happen before I read the info about the berries on the web, so now I’m ensuring that they don’t get at them. They swallowed them whole and they’ve definately came out the same way. No ill effects have shown after they ate the berries so all is well and I won’t tempt fate by giving them any opportunity to get into them again. Believe me they
