Are laser or light-based treatment painful?
There may be a mild discomfort associated with some laser treatments, but they are not painful, although the treatment sensation will vary from client to client. Our laser utilizes a Peltier cooling tip that chills to -8°C. When the tip is in contact with the skin it cools down the surface of the skin and numbs the nerve endings prior to discharging a pulse, making the treatment very comfortable. In general, clients describe the sensation as elastic band momentarily flicking onto your skin when light energy is discharged. There are no lasting sensations lingering after the treatments.
