Are landlords responsible to get rid of roaches in my house in Columbus, Ohio?
The landlord isn’t responsible for any upkeep to the place which is brought on by the negligence or unlawful actions of the tenant. So if the roaches are there because of anything you did, then it is up to you to get rid of them. This doesn’t mean just because they weren’t there before that you are responsible for them being there now. Conditions which have nothing to do with you could have become favourable for the roaches to appear. If that is true, then it is the landlord’s responsibility to get rid of them. So you need to know why they are there to determine whose responsibility it is to get rid of them.
