Are land registry deeds a good way of settling a dispute?
It’s not immediately obvious what the Council has to do with it.You need to say whether the property is Council owned or not.I suspect it is a Council house as otherwise your Gran would have the legal right to hold or at least see the Land Registry documents. If it is a Council property then your gran is probably inevitably obliged to the Council to maintain whichever garden (s) belong(s) to her tenancy.The Council will have the definitive information on this.If the property is indeed a Council house it will not neccessarily be registered at the Land Registry but one way or the other the local authority will have some title deeds which will identify the extent of the property and the garden(s) that go with it.
