Are ionic air purifiers better than HEPA purifiers?
If we are strictly talking about the purifying abilities of both the purifiers, then HEPA air purifiers are much superior to ionic air purifiers. HEPA purifiers are designed to capture 99.97 percent of impurities present in air which are above 0.3 microns in size. Ionic purifiers can in no way match such capabilities. However ionic purifiers do not produce as much sound as HEPA purifiers do. The technology dictates that ionic purifiers are calmer. In a family where there are no members who suffer from severe respiratory problems an ionic purifier is good enough.
