Are international students required to take the TOEFL?
International students need to prove that they have English proficiency. This can be done through evidence of completion of the official computer-based T.O.E.F.L. (Test of English as a Foreign Language) with a total score of at least 173, or the paper-based T.O.E.F.L. with a total score of at least 500, completion of the IELTS examination with a score of 6 or higher, or completion of Level 112 from an ELS Language Center. Students can also submit official Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT I) or American College Testing (ACT) scores. Western New England College’s College Entrance Examination Board (CEEB) Code for the SAT and T.O.E.F.L. is #3962; the College Code number for the ACT is #1930.
