Are International students eligible for the UNC System-Wide Hard Waiver Plan?
International students studying at a UNC System school with an F-1 or J-1 visa that are eligible under the hard waiver requirements can enroll in the Hard Waiver Plan. Coverage for these international students will be the same as coverage for domestic students. For information about international students waiving out of the Hard Waiver Plan, contact your school’s International Programs Office. International students not eligible for the Hard Waiver Plan can be covered by the Voluntary Plan.
