Currently, only the United Kingdom requires International Routing Codes (IRC). Wires to the UK that do not have International Routing Codes are returned to Wells Fargo for repair. Fifteen other countries use Routing Codes but do not yet require them. See Beneficiary Bank Information (About) for the list of countries that use International Routing Codes.
