International marriages are becoming more common and popular mainly because of progress – people from anywhere in the world can get to another country within a short time (airplanes, trains, ships, cars, etc.) so have more opportunity to meet up and fall in love. The internet also connects people from different part of the world together, thus creating closer ties among people of different nations. The novelty of marriage to someone of a different race / nationality is also a contributing factor to more international marriages and the rise of many match-making clubs for lonely people had accounted for many brides from under-developing countries being imported to other countries.
