Leadership in Medicine for the Underserved/Vulnerable (LMUV) is a Saginaw campus program that began in the fall of 2004. It has a dedicated focus on the clinical and leadership skills and knowledge necessary to serve medically underserved populations in urban, rural, and international settings. This is built into the core curriculum experience for family practice, obstetrics/gynecology, and pediatrics. All elements of this curriculum, including the international experience, are built around the efforts of the MSU-CHM Saginaw Campus in partnership with Synergy Medical Education Alliance. Housing and food will be covered for LMUV students when out of country, but students are responsible for the cost of their travel, an estimated $1,000 for the third year and $1,000 for the fourth year. Travel costs can be included in their financial aid package. Interested students may apply to the LMUV program during the regular application process.
