Yes, they are safe. • Health Canada has approved the sources of DHA and ARA used in Enfamil A+. • Babies around the world have been fed formula with DHA and ARA for over five years. • Currently, more than 60 countries, including the US, France and Hong Kong, have infant formula with added DHA and ARA. • International organizations – including expert groups sponsored by the Food and Agriculture Organization/World Health Organization and by the Child Health Foundation recommend adding these nutrients to infant formula. • More than 20 studies have been conducted over the last 10 years with babies fed DHA- and ARA-fortified formula.
