Are individuals from disciplines other than political science, economics, or sociology eligible to apply?
An individual who holds a doctorate in a “related discipline” may be eligible to apply if able to demonstrate proficiency in one of the three targeted social science disciplines. An individual with a doctoral-level professional degree only (MD, JD, etc.) is NOT ELIGIBLE for the Scholars Program. Other Robert Wood Johnson Foundation programs may be more suitable: e.g., the Clinical Scholars Program or the Investigator Awards in Health Policy Research.
