Are ID cards available immediately or after a 24 hour delay?
They are available immediately but there is a delay in getting information about staff into the Group 4 system. This is because it is not connected to the University network. Consequently, data must be transferred firstly by e-mail to someone who then saves the compressed files to a floppy disk. They are then transferred to the Group 4 system. If there are large numbers of changes such as at the start of an academic year, several such transfers must be made each day.
