Are hypnotists the real deal?

0

I’ve been hypnotized twice, so I would say “yes”. I’m done being hypnotized. This isn’t an experience I want to repeat anymore. Both times I experienced a “disconnect” between perception and volition — I was aware of what was actually happening, but had the sense that the hypnotists instructions were running the show and my own will was passively sitting in the background. I’m clear that I could have aborted any “harmful” suggestions from the hypnotist, but still I found that mental state to be unwelcome.
