These boots don’t sound like proper chainsaw boots. I was a lumberjack for several years and the two most important items of clothing were my protective boots and my protective trousers. The boots I wore (and nearly every other lumberjack did too) were ELTEN safety boots. They cost about £90. If you want to use them for forestry and for walking around then these are ideal. I used to wear mine into town after work, they were so comfortable. They’re pretty light considering the protection you get. They are protected against saw damage on the tongue as well as the caps and if you could see the nicks on them after a few years of use, you can imagine how many injuries they prevented.
