Are hunts illegal? :]?
The law is not really workable. Using more than two dogs to chase any animal, other than rats, is illegal. Two dogs can be used to chase a fox or deer towards guns where the prey is shot. It is not illegal to have hounds, however many you like, run on a pre- laid line (drag hunting) When hunts do this it is very difficult to stop hounds picking up the scent of a fox and following that rather than the pre-laid one. Of course, the followers have to chase after them to try and stop them. I am fairly sure that proper hunting is banned in N. Ireland but it certainly isn’t in the south where they have more sense than the British government!
