Are humans truly the cause of climate change?
Kyoto, Copenhagen, greenhouse gas emissions, climate change, global warming, Carbon footprints, Carbon offsets, catastrophe, dooms day….etc. These terms have become a monotonous mantra assailing our senses almost day and night. We turn on the radio and there it is on news casts and discussed on talk shows ad infinitum. We watch TV and almost inevitably we are confronted by some environmentalist sermonizing on the evils of our life tyles or a politician blaming the “other party” for all the evils it has inflicted on our planet through its policies. The mantra began as a quiet whisper back in the early ‘60s when Rachel Carson gave us a wake up call with her book “Silent Spring”. Some of us then said, “Hey, she’s right! Something is wrong!” DDT is harmful to the environment.
