Yes, provided the physician has medically justifed the need for the equipment and written complete orders in the patient chart, ie chart notes. Typically beds are required for alleviation of pain, as in post surgical procedures, or for positioning of the patient due to respiratory complications, to name a few needs. The old CMN’s (Certificates of Medical Necessity) which the physician used to answer and send to the provider are no longer used, placing more of a burden on the physician and staff. Call our office staff or your physician for assistance if you feel any medical equipment may be useful to you.
