Are hospital admissions related to AIDS, accidents unrelated to treatment, or street drugs counted in hospitalization statistics?

All hospitalizations, regardless of the contributing causes listed, are counted. However, if a patient dies of AIDS, we go back and exclude all their hospitalizations, some of which may have listed AIDS as a contributing cause.
